Important Post about Birthday Week

Yes it's Birthday Week again! The 35th Annual Birthday Week celebrations kicked off today with a long sleep in followed by a multi-hour laze around the house and back yard discussing Conference Week / Brendan Nelson Week festivities via phone with my friend in Hong Kong, followed by the discovery of an A4 sized hole in region of my dressing gown which normally covers the bottom.

I then went to work for a little while, then celebrated some more by going to see a movie about a man who dies alone in an abandoned bus after poisoning himself by eating wild berries.

The present tally is already looking like a new record may very well be in the offing, thus:

  1. New shoes (Camper, dedicated post forthcoming)
  2. Big umbrella for table on front patio
  3. tickets to Spamalot
  4. new purse with hologrammatic clover design
  5. Block of chocolate
  6. Box set of 'Brideshead Revisited' on DVD plus book of Regency drawings called 'Mrs Hurst Dancing'
  7. Indian bedspread with elephants and peacocks on
  8. Necklace and earrings from Jaipur
  9. Book called 'British Fiction Now'
  10. Punjab necklace
  11. Assamese scarf, tablemats, and shoulder bag
  12. Box of 'Natural Mozart' cookies from Japan
5 - 12 were the gifts of conference delegates and comrades who may or may not have been aware of the imminence of Birthday Week but I don't see why I shouldn't count them.

Wonder what the cats will give me?

Many birthday happinesses :)

Hope that Baz finds a tasty headless mouse to leave on your bed in your honour :)

Excellent timing-- presumably you can relax a bit and enjoy it. Many happies!

Happy Birthday week. Glad to see it stretches out over a week. You need time to properly enjoy these things.

Hippy Bath Week! Hope the festooning continues.

Ah yes, Hippy Bath week comes but once a year, but is consequently enjoyed and appreciated all the more due to its precious and ceremonial rareness.

I neglected to mention that yesterday I also received the unlooked-for gift of a free bath courtesy of the heavens opening over Melbourne. Got soaked to the skin. Feet are still dyed black due to the transfer of colour from new shoes which filled up with water. I took it home and used it to irrigate the tomatoes.

Elsewhere, I suppose you are shocked that I didn't have the DVD already.

Duckie, the chooks will probably give me eggs. The perfect gift for all occasions. Such thoughtful women they are.

Happy Birthday, Laura, hope you have a good week of celebration.

Perhaps Terri or Bindi will produce another monster egg for you? Or maybe they'll refrain from coming inside and pooing on the carpet?

Oh, I hope the new shoes are all right. Happy Birthday!

You will get over the conference.

Many happy returns, and bravo on your encounter with the fine folks from Frontline, whoops I mean the other show.

If my memory serves me correctly, you and I were born on the same day Laura? Or you were born on my 2nd birthday? HP and I were arguing last night, as I thought today was the last day of my birthday week, he thought yesterday was.
Hope you had a fab birthday! My pressie tally is nowhere near as impressive as yours - highlights include a graphics tablet, and sums of money that I spent at the opshop and on iTunes.
cheers, steph

A graphics tablet would be a great thing to have. I used to read Loobylu and wish I had one, knowing at the same time that it wasn't the lack of a graphics tablet which was the problem.

I just had a rummage through year-old posts, and our birthday is the same date but you are two years older. That makes three of us in blogland born on that date, that I know of.

Am thoroughly ashamed that I forgot to come over and leave a comment last week for Birthday Week. Botheration.

Hope the shoes have now thoroughly recovered. Where's that post?
