Shite on a pancake! How do you come up with this stuff, Helen?!! (1)

Personally I think it's rather super. But I've always been a few carrots short of a bunch. Did anyone look at that Withnail for Waterford post - they auctioned off stuff from the movie and those women bought the hip flask for 510 pounds. One of them came all the way from Australia to do so. Quelle jolie blague. And you all know, the time wasted reading this stuff would have passed in any case, as Estragon has often noted.
It should be noted that, for the most part, the people doing the fan art aren't really artists at all. Rather, they're just paying homage to someone they admire. While it might not be everyone's cup of tea I think it's a fairly innocuous thing.
As for traveling from Australia to meet up with a famous actor you've liked for a number of years, well, wouldn't almost anyone want to do that?

Metafilter occasionally does pay for all the infinite manhours it sucks up and funnels into a black hole.
Helen, I want* to see a picture of the Britney giving birth sculpture taken from the business end.
* I'm not using the word "want" literally, mind.
Thanks pal.
