Are you afraid of massive spiders?
I apologise for the blurriness, but it is a bit hard to hold the camera still when any moment a huge black spider is going to fling itself onto your face.

I'm impressed. I probably would have thrown the camera at the spider.
That spider is one from my nightmares. I have a deep fear of large spiders. I would have run screaming from the room, never to return.
This is why I will never move to Sills Bend.
The first is terrifying enough - our friend the huntsman - but the 2nd photo does seem nightmareish ...
Alas - it's November: hunstman high season.
I like spiders. And these are especially cool photos.
Last summer I got bit on the wrist by one just like the second, it hurt like buggery. I don't mind spiders in general because they eat flies.
Baz ate the huntsman.
I have no beefs with spiders... outside my house. I try not to kill them, honestly, but sometimes there's no option. For instance, I killed some redbacks earlier this year that were nesting precariously close to my dog's kennel.
Baz ATE THAT? I was going to ask what he did with it. My cats, like me, would have run screaming away. The last thing either of them stalked was a piece of chicken on my plate.
One of those things BIT YOU once? And you lived to tell? Ack!
I was going to ask, 'Are these fuckers for REAL?!' but the comments would seem to suggest that they are. And you got BITTEN by one? You just casually toss this information into your comments threads? My god. I'm seriously going to be having nightmares tonight.
I got bitten on the arse by a spider in Africa. The scars have faded but the humiliation lives on.
Crikey!
I like spiders when they're outside, (I used to catch crane flies and stick them in their webs) but big spiders that might fling themselves into my face would terrify me.
Plus, when I was about 11, I think, I read a story in Readers' Digest about funnel spiders, and for years I vowed that I'd never ever travel to Australia or New Zealand, just out of fear of them.
Look how beautifully those eight legs are arranged. A tubby huntsman lives in the frame of the window over my kitchen sink, pressed tightly into the corner. When I hear the blowie buzzing suddenly end, I look up and Hunty is munching away on the fly. Much more humane than Baygon. Co-exist, people! Read 'Charlotte's Web' fer chrissakes.
Spider Spider burning bright
Give Miss Lucy one more bite.
My place is full of spiders. They're lovely. They drop down on you, just to say hello.
Spiders are my friends. Always. And I'll tell you!- people who don't like spiders are definitely not welcome at chez RH!
Well, they never visit twice anyway.
Seems we both posted about spiders this week. I don't have a picture but mine was almost same size only thinner legs and a bit hairer. Yours has a much larger arse and looks far more menacing.
