Update

Hello blog. I am afraid we used up all our Internet for the month several days ago ( I'm laboriously typing this on my phone) so I can't really blog until May which is poo; Mel's suggestion on the last post that we talk about the Sookie Stackhouse novels is a good one. I am now 39 werks and 2 days pregnant and haven't had the baby on my own so I will be going into hospital on Friday evening to start the induction process, clashing with the Royal Wedding, with actual action most likely to take place on Saturday morning. Last night in bed I was thinking it felt like the biggest run up to Chtistmas ever (if Santa beat you up first before handing over the most exciting present you could ever receive, I suppose.) Anyway if you kindly want to hear when I've had the baby I think Twitter will have the earliest intelligence. If you're not on there, theres a link to my twitter feed in the sidebar of the blog. Wish me luck.

Very good luck! Can't they postpone it for a day so you can watch the RW?

Great post below, btw. Sorry I didn't comment at the time: was too braindead after my teaching marathon.

I might even have to subscribe to Twitter for this. Geez, Twitter didn't even exist when my kids were born, and the youngest has only just turned 5.

Best of luck.

oh good luck!!! just so exciting! when we were waiting (and waiting and waiting) for little felix michael said too it was a bit like waiting for christmas, except that they wouldn't induce us so we had no idea when christmas would finally come. but in the weeks after his birth we played sufjan stevens christmas music, and people came from all over the world just to see him, bearing gifts, so it was very much like christmas indeed.

I'll cross all of my fingers and toes, trusting that you're going for long walks, twiddling nipples, eating curry and all of the other things people suggest to get things moving.

I will also keep eyes on twitter in between making tinfoil tiaras and serving bubbles.

One nipple at a time please, we don't want to distress the baby. I have no idea if this is an old wives tale.

Happy birth day! Looking forward to good news soon, and wishing you all the strength and endurance it takes. Courage, I know, you have in buckets.

Well, Laura, not only did the baby coincide with the Royal wedding, but also the death of the great Joanna Russ. Good luck! Lucy Sussex

L.E.J. The Lej. A legend, no doubt.

I love his first photo - his imperious "so this is it?. I am not impressed" expression.
Now you are A Family. X X X
