36th annual birthday week

Special greetings extended to fellow Birthday Week celebrants. The Week is going to be a fairly low-key one this year. I am alone at home today with cats and chickens and it is cold and rainy outside, and for the past week I've been taking a medicine which makes me feel disgustingly sick - the side effects calm down after a while supposedly but meanwhile it's not really safe to venture too far from the ablutions block.

Anyway, here is a nice photograph of Doris Lessing about to put a fresh cat into her typewriter.

So that's how you go about writing The Great Novel. Now all I need to find is a cat...

Happy birthday week!

Happy bathday! (Week? I only get a day.) I guess she didn't have a program to stop the cat typing.

I hope that you're feeling better soon, not that "36" will help there

Happy Birdy! And Happy Birdy Awareness Month!

36 is square, and in my (pretty bloody nerdy Weltanschauung) it's hip to be square.

Happy 36th..me too. Today in Oz, tomorrow here...
I get double the oldness.
Plus I'm waking up at 4:30am to drive to Phoenix. The thought of it makes me feel extra old.

Happy Birthday Week! This is an excellent tradition; I would appropriate it, but I already get a fleet of public holidays for my birthday (which falls next year on Good Friday, appropriately enough)...

Sunday 18th January Frocky Melblogwomen are going to Bendigo to see the V&A Couture Collection.
Picnic Lunch in Rosalind Park adjacent to the Gallery Cafe which is open for non-picnicers.

I am so sorry TimT has no cat.
Hemingway had cats.
Raymond Chandler had cats.
Immense pleasure to be had from contemplating the beauty of a sleeping cat.
