A Pleasant Stroll

I'm writing a lecture on Jane Austen cults. Just wanted to quickly share this photograph with you before I get back to work. Isn't it fantastic?

I love it! But is she pushing around a pink balloon hiding under an umbrella? I hope so.

I had a friend who so loved the dresses in Pride and Prejudice that she made herself some and wore them everywhere. They really suited her too.

Dearest LT, what on earth are Jane Austen cults? Where and how do they operate? What are their black secrets?...or do we have to audit the course to find the answers to these and other interesting questions?

Blessings and bliss

Dearest Miss Eagle, I'm glad you asked. I was half thinking about turning the lecture into a blog post, and now I will do it. Today if I can make a bit of time.

yeah, yeah - MORE IMPORTANTLY, I've just (finally) looked at the program for your Austenaut conference and it looks FREAKIN AWESOME! Yes, I am shouting as I type this. The extra social stuff truly rocks - drinks, night tours, celebrities... and you're telling me there'll be papers and talking about books as well?!
Dang, homegirl, you really are the fushiz!

Do you reckon JA cults have anything much in common with the Society for Creative Anachronism? You know... personalities, dressing-up, retreat from industrialisation, etc.

You may have a point there, Stephanie. Both groups seem to have a fixation on puffy shirts for some reason. I blame Colin Firth.

Tired of politicians not listening to a word you say?

The Australian Government is thinking of setting up a 'blog' for the public to express their views on public policy.

Have your say on what form it should take here:

Yes, it's for real.

I'm sure you are Austening right this minute, but is it wrong I saw this print and thought immediately of your upcoming festive season needs?
