Posting

At lunchtime just now I posted my ATM card in the Australia Post letter box. I only realised when I woke up from a walking daydream to find I was trying to get cash out of the teller machine by poking it with a sealed, stamped, addressed envelope.

I didn't know those post boxes had EFTPOST facilities ...

So glad to see I'm not the only dreamy nong in the world. How many hoops will you have to jump through to get it back?

Oh dear. There is something in the air. Hope you get it back promptly.

You would think that the Australia Post box would at least have the decency to ask you if you wanted to withdraw cash from your savings account, and if so, how much you wanted to withdraw ...

I won't be getting it back. The bank will send me a new one.

And I was feeling pleased with myself for taking steps to reduce the likelihood of losing my office keys and flash drive, Galaxy (by tying them to a piece of string hanging around my neck) It looks like there's nothing for it I will have to get that piercing.

You're knocked up, aren't you?

No? OK.

Zoe, I was about to suggest the same thing! Laura?

It's not looking good I must say. Left any shopping behind lately?

You forgot the last post, all that cooking can only be 'nesting'.

Not pregnant, no, sorry. If I was you would certainly have heard about it before now. Such good blog fodder is not easy to come by these days.

I was really just thinking about something else, and the cooking on Sunday is all the cooking I'll do for at least a month.

Yes, that cooking was very suspicious. Still, having a parasitic animal living in you has its downsides. Like not being able to use the Boss' office ensuite because you can't fit around the door anymore.

eheheheh. damn, y'all beat me to it, knocked up was my immediate impression too :)

Ducky, I love the word 'nong'. I use it all the time. do you think Kath and Kim helped to re-popularise it? there's a line Kel says to Kath - "you're a nong. a foxy nong." - which makes me giggle every time.

Ahem. I have demonstrated that I am actually pregnant, because I commented, but obviously managed to stuff it up. My comment isn't here.

In my defence, I was vague before I got knocked up. I certainly haven't been whipping up spannacopita or otherwise involved myself in useful activity, I have had trouble getting into the cubicles of some work loos, and I can't remember an idea for long enough to blog it.

Kate, congratulations - and of course the same to all of you gestating blog people. I feel a little left out, to tell you the truth.

I have done a lot worse than this in terms of leaving things behind or putting them where they aren't meant to go, the very very worst is so bad that I can't write about it here. Dorian is the only person who knows about it. I think.

I have:

bought new clothes on the way home from work (after admiring in shop window for a month), then left them behind on the bus

left my Christmas shopping on the bus

lost two jackets by leaving them on the train under my seat

been late for work because I was so engrossed in my book that I utterly missed my stop and had to get off and catch the train back in the opposite direction

been late home for same reason

All when I wasn't pregnant ... and that's just in the PT category of absentmindedness.

That's gold.
