I know there's no prize, and it's nothing to do with this thread, but i just got bazcat in all 5 boxes. reclining on fabric with orange flowers; reclining on brown ground; reclining while being tickled; wrapped around a cushion; and (shock!) reclining on the floor

And i didn't have to do it by hitting refresh, just came to visit this site and there it was

I don't think I'll ever recover from viewing this post...

Recover from it? I don't even understand it. Is it toad powder for babies, or powdered baby toads? The picture would seem to indicate that it might be both.

It fits in nicely with a bizarre radio news item I heard today: cane toads are now being spotted regularly in Palmerston, and Darwin is having some sort of Toad Action Day shortly. The advice of the RSPCA is to smear them with haemorrhoid cream, which contains anaesthetic, and then put them in the freezer, after which the enterprising new business that has sprung up in Darwin will take your frozen toads off your hands in order to liquidise them and turn them into fertiliser.

I know it looks as if I'm making this up. But how would that be possible?

Congratulations Thirdcat. You should now go out and by a lotto ticket right away (unless you've already washed your hands.)

I don't understand baby toad powder either. Zoe seems to think it's something you eat with sauce. Maybe it's some kind of baby haemorrhoid cream made of liquefied toads. The other side of the box says Bot Coc Baby.

I think I might have forgot to declare it at Customs....

Oooh, jealous thirdcat. I've never won Bazlotto.

I have! And I never win anything! That was a good day.

Maybe something for between baby's toes?

Is that baby holding a picture of itself holding a picture of itself etc etc? What a weird universe...

Correct, in Darwin they're found a use for nasty cane toads. As fertilizer. And baby rusks as well, going by image.

Well spotted Duckie. Yes this may be the perfect postmodern thing, as it is baffling to begin with but then just when you think you have a kind of a grip it goes all mise-en-abyme-y on you.

Remind me not to eat no Darwin-grown foodstuffs.
