Here's Your Bleedin Photo of Zizek, OK?

I delisted my blog off Google for a while recently (The Late Unpleasantness, etc.) But for some reason it was still findable via Google Image searches. I think that might have meant that image search results from my blog got artifically inflated, and three images from my blog are turning up on the front pages of search results with peculiar frequency. Now the whole thing is back on the search engine list the image search hits are still bizarrely regular. Here are the three pictures visitors from all over the world come to Sills Bend to feast their eyes upon, in ascending order of popularity. I think these photos are fairly representative of the content here actually.

Third most popular:

Second prize in a beauty contest:

And the one that is *so hot right now*:

Why do you want to see a picture of Slavoj Zizek? Don't you already know what he looks like? (I'm talking to you, Princetonians.)

Oh yeah and three or four people looking for photos of "astroturf" have presumably been sent away fairly satisfied after gazing upon this:

I get some searches on photos that have meaningless numerical file names. I don't understand how Google searchers are finding those.

The mysteries of the internets will never cease.

Hehe, Zizek sucks, doesn't he. How (may I ask) did you get the blog delisted? I thought the ways of Google were inscrutable to us commoners.

Oh, he's not that bad. I can think of worse.

To stop search engines from crawling your blog you put a bit of code into the template. And you can ask Google to prioritise a visit from the crawler to read the code and update your status. If there's a way to keep stuff of Technorati, I don't know what it is. I followed the instructions in Blogger Help. Have no idea how you would do it for a Typepad blog.

I don't know if it's scarier that the cat is drinking at the table or that there's nothing in it's cup.

Do cats just like to pretend? <---hypothesis

He drank it all. Nothing "scary" about that.

I should have guessed Baz would have excellent table manners.

Looks like my hypothesis was {{disproved}}.

A successful day I believe.

God, I can't believe you Melbournians are still talking about Zizek!

(And why are you reading the Admirable Crichton?)

Good question....I'm not reading it, actually, it's just in the rotation mix from my LibraryThing catalogue. But as I sit here typing i'm getting the urge to go read it. Must - resist -

My memory of The Admirable Crichton is that it's very far from being a bad play. If somewhat revoltingly imperialist and sexist and snobby in its assumptions. My copy used to belong to the Laverton Air Force base library, according to the card in the back.

Any special reason why you ask? And if you people up in the desert aren't talking about Zizek, who ARE you talking about?

Yeah. I am succumbing tonight. (rereading the Admirable C.) I need a break from my life and Jeeves Meets Survivor will probly do the trick...
