Official Apology Post

Dear Ampersand Duck,

This post is an official apology to you from me. SORRY. The occasion for the apology is this: I'm not doing the meme you memed me with. This is because I already did that meme very recently and it would basically be exactly the same as before.

Laura

Oh bugger. I'm not surprised; I'm getting a bit sick of the meme thing. I'd rather read everyone's normal posts which reveal so much more about them anyway.

It also proves two things:

1. My memory really is as bad as I think it is
2. That meme reached the ends of blogdom by reaching me, so there it should stop anyway, at least as far as I'm concerned.

Of course, if there's anyone reading this who hasn't done it, feel free to take the baton.

I quite like doing memes, and I like reading other people's versions of them as well. The problem comes when some meme-writer gets a bit crazed with power and writes in the instructions that five people have to be tagged each time. At that rate, the whole blog system is infested in no time at all...

I agree--I tend not to like the compulsory passing along of the meme. I guess the interesting thing about that chain-letter question is seeing who the blogger chooses to pass it to. But it's not worth it.

Many of the memes are not especially interesting, but some of them do open up aspects of the blogger that normally wouldn't come to the front. So that's cool.
